Parents wanting to get some 'shut up, sit down and in your face' advice about raising kids - may want to get a copy of Larry Winget's latest book, Your Kids Are Your Own Fault - A Guide For Raising Responsible, Productive Adults.
Winget, known affectionately as the Pitbull of Personal Development, is a five-time New York Times/Wall Street Bestselling Author of multiple books to include You're Broke Because You Want To Be and It's Called Work for a Reason and is an A&E television star of the series Big Spender. He has also appeared on numerous television networks to dispense personal development advice.
In his latest book, Your Kids Are Your Own Fault Winget certainly pulls no punches in an attempt to get the parents, not the kids on the right track. From the get-go, Winget proclaims, "I can't fix your kid. This is not a fix your kid book. This is a 'fix the way you parent book.' If you want to fix your kid's behavior, you have to change your own behavior."
Although Winget's approach could be misconstrued as a little too hardnosed, he dispels the sentiment many times in his writings. "This book is for the parents who love their kids, want the best for them and are willing to do whatever it takes to turn that kid into a great adult," he says.
But, as the Pitbull of Personal Development, Winget isn't trying to be Mother Theresa. He is offering tough love and a proverbial kick in the pants for those parents willing to take a look at another perspective.
Winget's book might be tough - but it is on the money. I recommend it highly.
